One die; five rescued in Bagre Dam boat disaster

One person is reported dead and five rescued following a boat disaster at Bagre in the Lawra district of the Upper West Region.
The six were travelling on the boat to Burkina Faso to attend a funeral when the boat capsized due to strong winds.
Joy News correspondent Rafiq Salam reported the incident happened around 12:00 noon yesterday.
An eye witness, Mohammed Ousman told Salam, the victims were rescued by man who after seeing the boat capsized quickly took another boat and went on a rescue mission.
He succeeded in rescuing five but the sixth died.
