Ghana’s premier private English-language radio station, Joy 99.7 FM, has been adjudged the Brand of the Year at the Ghana Super Brands Tribute event at the Accra International Conference Center Thursday night.
The station outperformed other Ghanaian brands in the five criteria selected by the awards' council members, namely customer loyalty, goodwill, market dominance, longevity and overall market acceptance. Other brands nominated for the prestigious award include Alvaro, RLG, Frytol, Malta Guinness, Unilever, Golden Tulip, TV3, Omo, UT Bank, and Latex Foam.
Ecobank and Golden Tulip were also determined to be among the most valuable brands in Ghana.
Super Brands, the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding, is an international firm that recognizes excellence in branding.
Though Joy FM is the only radio station named in the publication, media houses TV3 and the Business and Financial Times also made the top 50.
The theme of the awards ceremony was Rewarding Excellence In Branding.
