Graduates of Accra Polytechnic are angry at the decision by school authorities to withhold their certificates because some students misbehaved at the graduation ceremony Friday afternoon.
They came over to Joy fm to express their disgust at the development.
Some of them are worried this will impede their plans to further their education.
They are therefore appealing to the relevant education authorities to step in and order the release of their certificates.
“If government, Minister of Education, GES, POTAG, can come and help us in getting our certificate we will be more than grateful for that,” one of the students said.
“Some of our colleagues have been denied access to work because they don’t have their certificates.
“...At the end of the day we blame government for not providing work for graduates but here we are we can’t even get our certificates,” another said.
A Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa told Joy News the students' request will be duly looked into.
“The appeal has just come to our attention. We will look into the circumstances surrounding the issue and advice accordingly,” he said.
